Tanya Retz
Tanya has over thirty five years of experience in the horticulture industry. Her father owned a nursery and landscaping center in Massachusetts and she has been playing in the dirt ever since. In 2012 Tanya and her family moved to Vermont and started Mama's Gardens in 2015. Tanya brings her passion for plants, design, and a meticulous eye for detail to each project, whether it be large or small.
Tanya is an active member in the Vermont Nursery and Landscape Association and serves on several committees, notably the Grand Garden Display committee for the Vermont Flower Show. The networking and collaborative efforts among colleagues in the industry is a highlight of each show.
In 2025 Tanya and Chris decided to expand Mama's Gardens small growing operation into a full nursery and garden center. Mama's Blossoms was established and Chris came on full time as nursery manager.
Tanya lives in North Hero with her husband, Chris and two children. The family raises chickens, goats and alpaca and at any given time may have a variety of other pets added to the happy menagerie.
